A question that often runs through my head as Dean and Rector of the Advent is:  ‘Who’s in charge around here anyway?!’

The Advent is a big place and has an inertia of its own, so much so that it feels to me on a sort of auto-pilot.  But rather than to try to take the wheel for myself, might it not be that this is not simply a sociological dynamic, but the work of the Spirit of God himself?

At the end of the day, I rest in the knowledge that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is in charge of the Advent.  And that he rules his church by his word, the Bible.
