Attention Week: Tuesday | The Shyira Diocese – Cathedral Church of the Advent

The mission of the Shyira Diocese is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, nurture believers, encourage and enable Christians to live after Jesus in obedience of the Holy Scripture.

In 2015, the Advent hosted the Mugisha family as Sam began his doctoral studies at Beeson Divinity School. Our friendship with Sam and Jacky and their girls (Iris, Ines, and Ingrid) has been a truly special one, launching our annual trips to Rwanda, partnership with the Shyira Diocese, where Sam currently serves as bishop, and our relationship with the entire Anglican province in Rwanda. The Rwandan church has much to teach us about the reconciling power of God, the joy of worshiping our risen Savior, and the love of Scripture.

“Lord of the harvest, continue to draw people to yourself in Rwanda. Raise up leaders who make disciples, and send those disciples into areas where the Gospel has not yet taken root.”
